Ryan + Brittany are one of those couples that just feel easy. They’ve been doing long distance, so getting to spend time together is something they don’t take lightly, and you can tell right away. They got engaged this past December at The Arcade Cleveland, and Brittany genuinely had no idea it was happening. She’s a schoolteacher, so she thought she was just going there for school photos. Ryan had other plans and proposed at the Christmas tree, which is honestly such a good Arcade moment.
We went back there for their engagement session and it just made sense to be in the same place where it all happened. If you’re looking for a Cleveland Arcade engagement session location, I will always recommend it. There’s so much variety and it photographs so well without having to overthink it. We kept things pretty natural inside, with a mix of light direction and letting moments happen as they were. At one point we realized we were parked in the garage right there, so we decided to go up to the top just to see what it looked like. It wasn’t part of the plan at all, but once we got up there it was so good.

If you have cute shoes, just know I’m probably going to ask you to take them off for a second. Add in this historic tile and I’m sold. Right after this, Brittany was trying to get her shoes back on and it wasn’t going great, so Ryan grabbed a chair, pulled it over, and helped her put them on. Very much a Cinderella moment, just in downtown Cleveland.

To top it all off, we made our way up to the top of the parking garage we were both parked in and found the best skyline view. I literally squealed because I’ve always wanted to do rooftop photos and somehow haven’t until this session.

These rooftop photos ended up being some of my favorites. The light was really soft and the city in the background just added something different from the Arcade. It felt a little more like them in their normal day to day, which I loved.
If you’re planning engagement photos in Cleveland or looking for a Cleveland wedding photographer, the Arcade is always one of my favorite locations.
Ryan + Brittany, I’m really excited for you guys and everything ahead 🤍
